Back in 2012, I was teaching karate out of a cramped community center basement. Just me, some worn-out mats, and a handful of students who believed in something more than just throwing kicks.
I'd spent fifteen years training across Japan, Brazil, and Thailand - learning that real strength isn't about how hard you can hit. It's about balance. Mind, body, spirit working together like they're supposed to.
Started Jade Valor Realm because I wanted a place where people could find that balance without all the macho nonsense you see at most gyms. A spot where your grandma and a pro fighter could train side-by-side and both walk out feeling stronger.
Now we've got this beautiful space on Robson Street, but the mission hasn't changed - help people discover what they're really capable of when they stop limiting themselves.

Started with traditional martial arts as the core. Discipline, respect, repetition. The basics matter 'cause they build character before they build muscle.
Added HIIT and functional training when we realized our students needed variety. Same intensity, different approach. Keeps things fresh and your body guessing.
Brought in yoga and meditation instructors. Can't just train hard - gotta train smart. Recovery and mindfulness became as important as sparring sessions.
Launched youth programs and family classes. Watching kids grow up through martial arts reminded us why we do this. It's never been just about fitness.
Today we're a complete holistic training center. Everyone from complete beginners to competitive athletes finds their path here. That's what Jade Valor means - precious strength for everyone.
Look, we're not here to turn everyone into cage fighters or Instagram influencers. That's not real life.
We're about helping regular people find extraordinary strength they didn't know they had. Whether you're dealing with stress, trying to get healthier, want to learn self-defense, or just need a place where you belong - we've got you.
